Operaestate is back in Bassano del Grappa

This year Operaestate Festival celebrates his 42nd edition with a program of over 100 appointments, in Bassano del Grappa and many more towns in Veneto.

The theme of the event, more than the link of all the shows, is the one of the “relationships”, a word that identifies since ever the concept of the festival. Indeed, all the shows will research on the theme of the ties and the partnerships. The theatre and dance shows, just like the concerts, will happen from july 11^th to September 25^th , always in different places and cities, with the goal to enhance the great thing that Veneto offers. It won’t fail to have references to Antonio Canova, his works and three big writers of the nineteenth century, like Luigi Meneghello, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Andrea Zanotto.

Between the best appointments lets quote the cinema d’essai in Villa Cà Erizzo Luca, outside or the musical revue thought by “Terre graffiate”, in Monte Grappa. Or, finally, the shows dedicated to kids and families, like the circus.

On june 20^th, Bassano del Grappa will host Bassano city of Jazz – Suoni nella città. The misic night dedicated to all the styles of jazz , that will be played around the streets and the squares, in the symbolic places of the city and in those not very known.

The main character of the event will be Piazza Libertà, with a special Big Band.

Operaestate was founded more than 40 years ago like a lyric summer season. Even though over the time it opened their doors to many other disciplines, the lyric production is still nowadays one of the main attractions of the festival, like the appointment with Il Rigoletto of july 31^st at Teatro al castello “Tito Gobbi” in Bassano del Grappa.

The scenography signed by Giuseppe Emiliani for the direction and Federico Cautero for the scenes, coproduced with Padova, Treviso and Rovigo. The musical execution will be entrusted to the orchestra of Padova and of Veneto, directed by Nicola Simoni. This orchestra will also perform the two suite “Water Music” and “Royal Fireworks Music”, by Handel and chosen like the soundtrack of the big party at the river Brenta with fireworks, scheduled on july 11^th.
